Motorsport - my journey

Hello, my name is Spencer Peacock, I am 22 years old and I live in South London.

Entering Fueltopia Barrel Sprint and Formula Gymkhana 2017 season is my first step back into Motorsport from karting as a child.

My dad got me into karting at the age of five, we spent three years testing until I was old enough to take my ARKS licence at eight.

We started our karting career in the Formula 6 Championship for five years racing along side names such as Tom Ingram and George Russel.

We also raced in various Club championships – some years we won back to back championships.

After five years of karting it was too much of a financial struggle for my dad to fund us as we only had small sponsors who would help us out when they could.

My return to Motorsport came after watching the final round of the Fueltopia Barrel Sprint 2016 season, watching a friend Mike Newland. After watching the racing in the flesh I was hooked.

I went home, looked online and found a car in my budget. I brought a semi-rolling shell for £400. After four months of building the car it was ready to see some action. The car was slow and was at the bottom end of the top 16 qualifiers.

By the end of the season it had been turbo converted and is now a fire breathing machine. With 1,000th of a second between qualifying 3rd, 4th and 5th the car is starting to give the championship leaders a run for their money.

Now I am preparing my car for 2018!
